An Electrical Control Systems Engineer job is available with a manufacturing client in Columbus, Ohio. The Control Systems Engineer designs, details, and programs the electrical power and control system for blast and coating systems, as well as all associated subsystems. Systems will consist primarily of existing client"s products integrated with third-party and customer provided components to create a complete solution. THIS IS A LONG-TERM CONTRACT WITH POSSIBILITIES TO DIRECT
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Design control and electrical systems and deliver electrical drawings and bill of materials.
* Creation of one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, control panel layouts, installation drawings, and other required project documentation.
* Sizing and selection of motor drives, VFDs, soft starters, and smart contactors.
* Support the build and troubleshooting of equipment in the field.
* Conduct verification and factory acceptance testing of electrical equipment.
* Guides explanations and clarifies information to enable proper interpretation and evaluation of complex specifications, performance characteristics or other technical data related to the electrical and controls aspect of a project.
* Represent the Electrical Engineering function in project meetings and cross functional system and subsystem level design reviews.
* Support the development, commissioning, and troubleshooting of control system software.
* Conduct internal factory acceptance testing of equipment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* BSEE from an ABET accredited university.
* Minimum 3 years of experience designing electrical and control systems for industrial equipment and systems.
* Preferred 3 years of PLC and HMI programming experience. Experience with Schneider, Beckhoff, B&R, or Allen Bradley preferred.
* Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical is preferred.
* Understanding of industrial plant operations and maintenance to help ensure systems can be efficiently installed and maintained in existing facilities a definite plus.
* Understand the requirements of NEC for 480VAC power distribution design.
* Understand the requirements of OSHA and NFPA for machine safety and hazardous areas.
* Must be US citizen
