We are seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define electrical system requirements and program electrical systems for fire trucks. You will develop and release electrical system components, create and document bills of material, and work with suppliers on component feasibility. Additionally, you will provide build support throughout the product development cycle.
Responsibilities
+ Define electrical system requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
+ Program electrical systems in Vemux for all electrical controls on fire trucks.
+ Develop and release electrical system components in the production system.
+ Create, organize, and document bills of material for electrical systems on Fire Apparatus.
+ Work with outside suppliers on component feasibility, development, and integration.
+ Provide build support at various stages throughout the product development cycle.
Essential Skills
+ PLC programming
+ Hands-on mechanical troubleshooting with 12V electrical systems
+ 2D/3D design experience (classroom or internship)
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline
+ 0-3 or more years of vehicle electrical system design, integration, or testing experience
+ Experience with electrical component development, wiring harnesses, and schematics
+ Good understanding of software/hardware interaction
+ Demonstrated experience managing project deliverables
+ Knowledge of general product development processes
+ Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively
+ Clear and concise oral/written communication skills
+ Ability to work off-shift hours, as needed, to support production during builds
Work Environment
You will work in a smaller shop environment with a mix of office and floor work. Typically, the split is 50/50, but during heavy design periods, it may shift to 75/25. The company is family-owned, supports the first responder industry, and offers direct training from the OEM. The team is tight-knit, growing fast, and committed to taking care of its employees.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
