Job Responsibilities

Compliance with all health/safety and environmental protection policies according to the Benteler management system and required federal and state laws. Be an active safety advocate. Enforce employee compliance with all company, plant and departmental operating policies and procedures, rules, and expectations. Implement the principles of leadership and professionalism, and exemplify Benteler’s Core Values of Ambition, Courage and Respect. Hold teammates accountable for the good deliverance and sustainability of improvement results. Assure the appropriate Maintenance performance indicators are in place and that teams have been provided with adequate knowledge to achieve and maintain their improvements. Utilize process experts, department leaders and steering committees as needed to generate improvement ideas and accomplish key objectives. Lead the effort to streamline processes across all areas. Coordinate and report status of improvement efforts and results to allow for easy reporting to executive leadership. Manage the development and implementation of work procedures, PM’s and LOTO within the Hot Rolling Mill. Participate in plant 5S and Lean manufacturing programs as well as all continuous improvement activities in the Hot Rolling Mill Maintenance department. Ensure preventative maintenance measures are being followed within the Hot Rolling Mill Maintenance department. Overall responsibilities for the training and evaluation of all Hot Rolling Mill electrical shift maintenance personnel on team, as well as coordinate the content of all Hot Rolling Mill Maintenance training materials and lead the implementation of a structured, targeted training program for improvement teams.  Participate in "Root Cause Analysis" meetings to determine and rectify problematic issues. Plan and coordinate weekly and yearly outages. Responsible for the Preventative Maintenance program development and implementation between four rotating shifts. Assign and review daily work activities taking into consideration all operational priorities.   Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisors, coworkers, and management. Responsible for SAP Dashboard Time Management for all direct reports.

 

Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent required, post-secondary diploma or degree in a technical field is preferred. Minimum of 5 years’ experience required in coordinating maintenance and/or operations activities as a manager, team lead/supervisor in an industrial environment, along with prior experience in team leadership and employee development and mentoring. Strong leadership skills, (including sound judgment, aptitude for directing and motivating others, inductive and deductive reasoning abilities, problem solving skills, positive attitude, and results orientation). Prefer previous experience working with the SAP Maintenance module, Purchase orders & Inventory control and scheduling, reporting and communicating down day, outage and breakdown activities. Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills. Ability to organize and explain complex data in a clear manner. Detail oriented with proven analytical, problem identification and resolution skills. Ability to work in and add to our Team Orientated Atmosphere.                                          Strong Safety Awareness and Experience. Demonstrated capability of results through people, technology, and process. Knowledge of compiling reports and ensuring compliance. Knowledge of writing SOP’s, work procedures. Must have above average understanding of Siemens automation systems, associated communication protocols and Siemens Step 7 software.   Must have above average knowledge of variable frequency drives. Must have above average electrical troubleshooting abilities.
