Job DescriptionAECOM is currently seeking a Electrical Technical Program Manager. The Electrical Technical Program Manager (TPM) will be responsible for overseeing the design of post Facility Ready (FR) electrical system upgrades and retrofits. This includes building matrixed design teams from internal design and external design services partners/providers, facilitating the creation of a shared plan for the execution, and oversight of design services provided by an external design team in support of construction activities. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of mission critical design and construction, as well new product development and insertion. This is a remote role, but NYC area is preferred.
This person will proactively identify, organize, and lead program activities and stakeholders in order to successfully deliver business, operational, and technical improvements. They will scope, phase, and lead ambiguous cross-functional and cross-organizational challenges including delivering downstream change management, alongside your stakeholder team. They will ensure alignment of senior cross-functional and cross-organizational stakeholders. And have advanced knowledge of the domain of your program.
This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Proactively identify stakeholders and work with them to strategize, plan, and prioritize objectives and success criteriaEstimate task durations, and ensure schedules and dependencies are aligned and support those objectives within an organizationEffectively monitor and communicate progress, and risks. Propose mitigation plans, and align stakeholders on de-risking strategiesMeasure and publish program and process metrics to drive consensus in teams’ understanding of issues, and to drive decision-making and continuous improvementSeek out and apply relevant best practices from other client processes and technologiesProactively identify and implement technical and business programs and processes in medium to large work groups, and drive ideas and solutions to addressOrganize ambiguous projects into clear longer-term (6+ months) objectivesFoster collaboration with program teams across an organization. Understand and address their needs to support them throughout their life cyclesGuide alignment on timelines, goals, and deliverables of related projects and teamsManage escalations and unblock obstaclesBreak down programs and processes into components that could be executed by partner teamsIndependently design and deliver optimized program communication plans including executive and key partner communicationsOptimize regular checkpoints and metrics dashboardsEnsure stakeholders are aligned on rationale for program pivotsIndependently determine and collect data required to govern programs and effectively drive stakeholder decision-making.Independently maintain project trackers and status reports.Create automated processes to enhance velocity and monitoring.Lead effective program stakeholder meetingsIndependently develop change management rollout plans for programs including impact analysisAcross multiple teams, independently define, lead, and own program charter(s) that address scope, and timeline, OKRs, resourcing and risks/dependencies of moderately complex programsTranslate ambiguous program goals into clear and measurable objectives/milestonesCreate project plans that break down a project into discrete phases aligned to the needs of stakeholders, include risks/dependencies and support proactive identification of program constraintsEffectively build trusted relationships with senior program stakeholders to proactively enable effective decision makingAcross multiple teams, develop technical analysis, tools, and processes that support engineering execution, excellence, and velocityPerform technical due diligence to evaluate engineering scope, determine milestones, timeframe, and engineering resourcing needsQualificationsMinimum Requirements
BA/BS in Electrical Engineering + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education5+ years' experience in Electrical EngineeringPreferred Requirements
Professional Engineer (PE) licenseField experience with commissioning and testingStrong work ethic and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environmentProficiency in power distribution and backup power systems and the associated documentation for operationsKnowledge and understanding of electrical engineering principles, practices, and related tech areasKnowledge of industry construction methods and techniquesSelf-motivated with the ability to analyze and resolve issues promptlyAble to work independently with minimal oversight for extended periodsAdditional InformationSponsorship is not available for this positionRelocation is not available for this positionAbout AECOM
