As an Electrical Technician you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter by ensuring electrical systems and equipment are operating optimally.

Responsibilities include: Assembly, installation, maintenance, repair and modification of electrical systems associated with machinery, test fixtures and equipment aboard ships, on shore and on-water facilities, working from wiring and schematic diagrams.  Use of high and low voltage equipment in a wet environment and extreme depths of water. Components include such items as alternators, voltage and current regulators, frequency converters, AC & DC motors and generators, step up and step down transformers (both power and control) and relays.  Knowledge of state electrical codes and safety regulations.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Associates of Arts/Associates of Science or graduate from an accredited technical school providing electrical training
● Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience
● Required Technical Skills: Experience with the following:

High and low voltage power distribution systems. Large DC electric motors and motor controllers. Electrical system and machinery installation, component trouble-shooting and diagnosis. High voltage & current power supply and battery charging systems. EMI, grounding and cross-talk suppression. Electrical or optical cable termination and signal interfacing. Electrical system and safety procedure applications and documentation.
● Security Clearance Level: Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance
● Required Skills and Abilities:

Superior knowledge of the use of instruments for measuring power, voltage, current, resistance, impedance, inductance, capacitance, reactance, power factor, phase rotation and frequency. Interpretation of complex schematic control diagrams and manufacturers drawings.  Knowledgeable in the field of electronics to the extent necessary to troubleshoot and analyze electrical circuits containing electronic components such as operational amplifiers, magnetic amplifiers, transistor and integrated logic circuits, to determine if inputs and outputs are consistent for the proper operation of the electrical equipment.
