**Job Description:** As an Electrical Technician, you will work as a crew member under the supervision of the area supervisor, providing support for I&C, Electrical, Mechanical, and O&M technicians in the execution of preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance for power-generation assets. You will execute scheduled maintenance activities using both internal and external resources to ensure the reliable, efficient, and safe operation of assigned equipment, including advanced class combustion turbines, heat recovery steam generators, electrical distribution systems, distributed control systems, high voltage transformers and generators, AVRs, PSS'S, condition monitoring and machine protection systems, and various high-speed rotating machinery.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Provide a safe working environment through procedural compliance, training, and safe work plans to safeguard personnel and plant equipment.
+ Install, adjust, inspect, service, and repair a variety of electrical/mechanical equipment and mechanical parts of electrical machinery utilized in an electrical power station.
+ Maintain, repair, install, and troubleshoot electrical equipment, up to 13,800 volts, including conduit, wiring, electric motors, switchgear, plant lighting, and motor operated valves.
+ Perform and/or coordinate assessments and inspections to execute cost-effective preventive maintenance strategies, design improvements, and major equipment component replacements.
+ Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and a voltage tester.
+ Install ground leads and connect power cables and wires to machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment.
+ Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and fixtures using test equipment.
+ Repair or replace faulty electrical components, wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
+ Test malfunctioning or broken equipment using test equipment, and discuss malfunction with other workers to diagnose the issue.
+ Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
+ Place conduit, pipes, or tubing inside designated partitions, walls, structures, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
+ Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
+ Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.
**Essential Skills:**
+ Minimum of five years of experience performing skilled maintenance as an Electrical Technician at a generation or large industrial facility.
+ Must have experience as an electrician.
+ Must have heavy industrial experience.
+ Excellent knowledge of power generation systems maintenance or large industrial facility maintenance, including high voltage switchgear, breakers, motors, generators, AVRs, protection equipment, etc.
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
+ Ability to carry out complex written and oral instructions.
+ Ability to read and understand schematics, logic diagrams, and electrical drawings.
+ Functional competency with personal computers.
+ Must be capable of methodical analysis of complex technical problems.
+ Must possess and demonstrate excellent writing and composition skills.
+ Highly motivated with a willingness to work extended hours when necessary.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications:**
+ Power plant experience is a bonus, but not required.
+ Follows safety procedures as required, including lockout/tag out, confined space, arc flash, and other safety procedures.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
