The Technician 3, Electrician is responsible for operation, maintenance, and optimization of plant electrical systems. This may include but not limited to medium voltage switch gears, transformers, and low voltage distribution panels. Monitor and operate process control systems and equipment in assigned process and utility areas and troubleshooting and maintaining the electrical equipment to ensure these systems meet the stringent requirements of pharmaceutical manufacturing and storage environments. This role will be a part of a team required to support 24/7 operations.

Job DescriptionMajor Accountabilities:
Performs electrical systems walk down inspections during constructionAssists with startup of all electrical gear to include Low and Medium Voltage switchgear, motor control center (MCCs), power distribution panel (PDPs), uninterruptible power supply (UPS), electrical panels, and end point equipmentSupports system walkdowns which interface with Electrical systems post-construction phaseReviews redlines drawings for electrical systemsInterfaces with and supports engineering, operations, and construction teams during both construction and operational phasesProvides direction in the field for electrical team activities in support of daily operation of the siteConducts preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for all electrical systems, such as Switchgear (Low and Medium voltage), MCCs, PDPs, UPS systems, switchboards, and power panels, variable frequency drives (VFDs) and motorsInterprets electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematicsAssists with the continued improvement and development of the electrical maintenance program to include safety gear selection, maintenance and test equipment selection, and support of the training programPartners with procurement to obtain needed electrical supplies and equipmentPartners with system engineers and reliability engineers to support equipment enhancements and projectsHandles the operation, maintenance, and optimization of plant electrical systemsTroubleshoots, maintains & identifies system improvementsProvides technical support for site project execution, as requiredAdheres to all Quality and Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) regulationsSupports technical development and mentors other Electrical TechniciansUses lean concepts for continuous process improvementsAssists in the development of maintenance procedures and plansSupports site operations and emergency work orders during off-hours, as neededOther duties, as assignedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities

High School Diploma/GED6 years of electrician experienceExperience with medium and low voltagesExperience troubleshooting and repairing electrical systemsExperience maintaining and testing electrical systems and equipmentPreferred Education Requirements
Associate degree in electrical, technical, or related degree or U.S. military technical school7+ years of experience as an industrial electrical technicianExperience in pharmaceutical or another highly regulated industryExperience providing oversight to 3rd party contractors or mentoring techniciansExperience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
