Job Description
An exciting opportunity is available for an Electrical Technologist to join a dynamic team in Surrey. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with an emphasis on low voltage systems, and a proven track record in developing RFQs and working with procurement on electrical specifications. This role offers the chance to work on diverse projects in the energy sector, contributing to sustainability and decarbonization initiatives.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop Requests For Quotation (RFQs) and collaborate with Procurement on electrical specifications.Select switchgear, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and motor control centers (MCCs).Design single line diagrams, light panels, and layout drawings.Support ETAP studies, including ArcFlash, load flow, and lighting.Maintain high-level communications with multi-discipline teams on project deliverables.Essential Skills8-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in EPCM environments.Proficiency in low voltage systems (600V and below).Experience with ETAP, AutoCAD 3D, and Bluebeam software.Familiarity with low voltage deliverables, LNG, hydrogen, medium voltage, instrumentation, and controls.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with medium voltage systems (4160V and above).Knowledge of LNG and hydrogen applications.Proficiency in instrumentation and controls.Work Environment
The position is based in the Surrey office, with consideration for Calgary candidates as well. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:30am-5pm, with an unpaid lunch break. The role includes a hybrid work program: working from home on Fridays and in the office Monday to Thursday. Employees enjoy a half-day on Fridays, finishing at 11am. A personal device is required for remote work on Fridays, with the option to work from the Surrey office instead. The work environment is business casual, leaning towards casual, with various sports teams and corporate events. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
