Electrical Test Engineer
Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Electrical Test Engineer to join our team in Richmond, VA. Relocation assistance will be provided within the US. The Test Engineer is responsible for supporting the development, application, revision and compliance of test standards for flow-down of customer, regulatory, production and engineering key characteristic requirements. The expected annual salary range for this role is $67,500 - $99,000 a year with a one-time $6,000 sign on bonus. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. **What you’ll do:** + Provide input to, author, update, train, and ensure adherence to test and quality standards, product specifications, work instructions, Quality Alerts and procedures. + Assist the test team in product troubleshooting and failure analysis. + Assist in preparation and execution of customer factory witness test events. + Provide input for designing, selecting, supporting, servicing, and troubleshooting of test equipment and electrical systems, testing protocols, test data collection and best practices to improve quality, safety and throughput of the test process. + Implement and maintain data analysis and collection methods and assure the documenting, monitoring and timely reporting of test related defects/data. + Analyze, interpret and effectively present test data. + Provide input to Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and assure test work instructions and processes are updated based on output of FMEA/Control Plan updates. + Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities (A3, 8D, 5why, fishbone, etc.). + Support quality management system and test process improvement activities, including Eaton QMS implementation, regular ISO 9001 internal/external audits and related activities. + Support testing function in achieving customer expectations, financial performance, and key operational performance indicators (safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory) + Support continuous improvement activities, cost out, kaizen, business process improvement, rapid improvement event structured problem solving, and other methods to create a lean culture and increase operational performance. + Complete other duties as assigned. **Basic (Required) Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution, with graduation no later than May 2025; Minimum 2.8 GPA + Minimum of one (1) year experience in a manufacturing or engineering function or completion of an engineering internship + Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future. **Preferred Qualifictions:** + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution. + Experience in a manufacturing organization with a focus on electrical or electronics products. + Experience in technical writing with focus on electrical engineering. + Experience in technical project management. **Position Success Criteria:** + Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. + Ability to get results and drive change through others. + Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills. + Ability to use a variety of computer systems including Microsoft office and assigned technical software. + Ability to balance competing priorities and multiple projects at once. + Ability to effectively present results and recommendations to leadership team. + Ability to read technical documents and drawings including electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, power flow diagrams, mechanical blueprints and other electrical and mechanical drawings. + Ability to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds. \#LI-DNI We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
