Electrical Test Engineer Senior

Position Overview
International has an exciting new opportunity for an Electrical Test Engineer Senior to join our Electrical Systems and Components Test team at our Advanced Technology Center in Elmendorf, TX! The Electrical Test Engineer Senior will encompass testing of system integration, computer software, serial communication, and components. The testing will be performed on International diesel and electric vehicles and includes vehicles with autonomous driver assist systems. Expectation is 85% of time spent hands on with vehicle in shop environment and 15% completing paperwork in office environment. Flex time is conditional base upon program requirements.
The International Elmendorf Advanced Technology Center (ATC) is a Research and Development Facility as well as a support center for the San Antonio Manufacturing Plant that builds leading-edge commercial vehicles. The Electrical Systems and Components Test team performs validation of the electrical and electronic systems of commercial trucks and school buses.
Responsibilities
Design Test Preparation:
+ Review design information, including Electrical System Implementation/Electrical System Requirements (ESI/ESR).
+ Issue a feedback document (requirement document with comments) to systems engineers for information/documentation defects (necessary information that was omitted) and recommended information/documentation improvements.
+ Review DVP with manager and systems team, incorporate DVP feedback, and will receive manager DVP approval (OKTT) prior to start of test.
+ Create test scheduled from supplied DVP and vehicle availability.
+ Execute test based on supplied test procedure/requestor supplied procedure, store results and test report in the WRTS system.
+ Keep track and report status of OKTT and subsequent preparation progress.
+ Prepare and review test procedures based on written requirements.
+ Create test harnesses and instrument a vehicle for testing
+ Troubleshoot and repair wiring harness defects.
+ Write a work request for mechanical support in Maintenance Connect (MS) data base.
+ Update electrical support in Build Operations Database as need per test.
Test Execution:
+ The Electrical Test Engineer Sr will be expected to:
+ Perform functional buck validation as called for by DVP.
+ Perform functional vehicle-level validation as called for by DVP.
+ Problem Solve to troubleshoot root cause for failures of electric circuits or software.
+ Complete test setup/teardown and execute test.
+ Expected travel to accomplish off site testing at remote test locations.
Validation Test Reporting:
+ The Electrical Test Engineer Sr will be expected to:
+ Report any test failures or anomalies found during validation testing within 24 hours.
+ Submit any failure or concern to the appropriate Engineer using CAN analyzer, Dewsoft, INCA,
+ SOMAT, or other test data acquisition software.
+ Update WRTS status within 24 hours of completing validation tests.
+ Complete test report within 30 days of test completion date.
Deliverables:
+ The Electrical Test Engineer Sr will be expected to produce the following deliverables.
+ Completion of OK to Test form required of validation testing.
+ Prepare a validation and development test reports document.
+ Test data.
+ Issue reports
+ Issue Pyxis within 24 hours of issue identification.
+ Enter and update WRTS tickets.
+ Project Power Point Presentations
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
+ At least 2 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
OR
+ Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
Additional Requirements
+ Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
+ Must be self-motivated team player willing to learn new skill sets.
+ Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and trouble shooting.
+ Ability to proficiently work from schematics, diagrams, verbal, and written instructions.
+ Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Teams Chat.
+ Understanding of SAE J1939 Control Area Network (CAN).
+ Preferred experience in both Hybrid and EV vehicle diagnostics.
+ Knowledge of Safety Protocols for Electric Work.
+ Experience in a testing environment to include Cold/Hot chamber, dyno, and wind tunnel.
+ Understanding of data acquisition and measurement equipment such as HBM SOMAT, Dewsoft, and /or National
+ Instruments LabVIEW.
+ Use the Cummins InSite/CalTerm tools to read, store, and write ECM and ACM calibrations.
+ Use the Eaton Roadranger service tools to read, store, and write TCM calibrations.
+ Use the Allison service tools to read, store, and write TCM calibrations.
+ Use Bendix Acom service tool.
+ Use Oscilloscope, PicoScope, Digital Voltmeter, and current probes to make measurements.
+ Development of testing process improvements.
