Electrical Test Technician - 3rd Shift

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking an Electrical Test Technician - 3rd Shift. This position is based at our Omaha, NE facility.

The hourly rate for this position is $24.00 - $30.00 per hour.

The core hours are 8pm - 6:30am - Sunday Night - Wednesday Night.

What you’ll do:

Position Overview:
This position is a vital step to our production process.  Our electrical testers are the final step for all functional and quality checks for our large electrical products (Switchgear).  Working in teams, you’ll reference schematics and wiring diagrams to test connections, circuits, relays, and other transformers.  Some programming of displays may be required depending on customer specifications.  All testers become certified electrical workers and must be proactively troubleshoot complex electrical circuits.  

In this function you will:
•    Perform functional and operational tests to ensure wiring and assembly of the finished product matches the drawings and project specifications.
•    Reference schematics and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot any errors during testing
•    Utilize meters and additional electrical testing equipment to verify all correct outputs 
•    Safely perform all test on Switchgear products in alignment with internal qualified electrical worker standards 
•    Utilize computer software and hardware to conduct tests on electrical products and systems.
•    Perform routine quality inspections on Switchgear during the assembly process.
•    Maintain accurate quality records to identify trends for corrective measures 

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
•    Must have an Associate’s Degree in an electrical or electromechanical technology from an accredited institution OR minimum of 2 years’ experience testing and troubleshooting electrical equipment with a high school diploma /GED from an accredited institution
•    Must have worked with live electricity and troubleshoot live circuits. 
•    Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
•    No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates within a 60-mile radius of (enter location) will be considered.  Active - Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
 
Preferred qualifications:
•    Experience working in the utility market or data center market
•    Experience working with transformers
•    Three (3) years’ experience testing electrical equipment preferred 

Skills:

•    Working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility
•    May travel to customer sites for trouble shooting and repair (<10%).
•    May include some evening and weekend work.
•    Good problem solving and troubleshooting ability
•    Excellent history of work performance, teamwork and attendance
