Summary:

The Electrical Trainer delivers training in a construction environment at project sites, including remote locations, under minimal supervision. The Electrical Trainer provides specialized training per the corporate training matrix and project needs, as well as leadership and guidance regarding HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental) programs to all site staff, including field personnel, project managers and superintendents. The Electrical Trainer ensures all documentation requirements are met and supports all company HSQE initiatives and inspects working conditions in office and construction settings to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations.

 

Requirements:  

Delivers training schedule in conjunction with operations partners to maximize instructor booking efficiency and quality, adhere to budget, and achieve results-driven learning solution goals.Trains individuals safely on Low Voltage through High Voltage Electrical Systems; ensures appropriate level of electrical training is provided to individuals.Represents technical training department as a Subject Matter Expert for Electrical Power Systems.Utilizes multiple delivery methods i.e., classroom, practical, and virtual to maximize comprehension and engagement.Ensures training documentation is submitted for input into the company's LMS system.Secures and maintains all required TTT (Train-the-Trainer) certifications to respond efficiently to training needs.Participates proactively in curriculum development.Fosters an environment where employees look to the HSQE Training Department for assistance, guidance, and solutions to safety training needs.Provides technical leadership within the HSQE department.Operates company vehicle in a safe manner to drive to various site locations.Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.Periodically function as a safety representative, as needed.Performs safety walks/inspections during project or site visits.Supports a culture of continuous improvement.Supports training initiatives related to internal Apprenticeship program, as needed.

Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.Receives job and task specific training prior to work commencing.Follows technical, quality and safety systems in place and determines appropriate action.Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.

 

Qualifications:

High school/GED General Education required.Bachelors Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related degree: or 10 years equivalent applicable experience preferred.10+ years Proven experience implementing and delivering HSQE Training Programs in the Wind, Solar or Electric Utility T&D Substation industries or applicable Heavy Construction Industry and curriculum development required.Journey Lineman or Licensed Electrician required. NCCER Certified Instructor or ability to obtain required.OSHA 500 Trainer preferred.OSHA 501 Trainer preferred.Completion of Accredited Apprenticeship preferred. Advanced knowledge in, Electrical power transmission and generation, low to high voltage electrical systems. Safety Training, Following Rules and Regulations, Industry standards, Operating equipment safely and efficiently, OSHA/ANSI regulations and associated best practices, and NFPA 70E regulations.Intermediate knowledge in:Communication, Excellent oral and written communication, including speaking/presenting before large audiences; ability to demonstrate competency in speaking, coaching, and teaching teammates in safety-related meetings and training sessions, Listening skills, Comprehending and following directions, and Conveying issues.Meeting work goals and deadlines.Following verbal and/or written directions accurately.Relationship building, Ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization to bring about the best outcome for our business, our employees, and our customers, Exemplifies successful work in a team environment.Accuracy in workAbility to work on different types of terrain.Ability to use hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.Ability to utilize MS Office Suite of applications i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams.Ability to read, write and speak Spanish proficiently a plus.Functional competencies include accountability, collaboration, communication, continuous improvement, and excellence.Valid Driver's License required.Domestic travel 51-75% required.

 

Anticipated base salary range:  $106,000 - $125,000

 

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
