Electrical Utility Engineer

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for professional engineering work related to Doyon Utilities' capital project program to include providing professional and technical design preparation and reviews, and the creation of proposals. The position assists in the development of short- and long-term plans addressing the continued development, future expansions, and rehabilitation of the utilities' electrical systems, assists in the preparation of responses to requests for proposals, and the annual update of the utilities' standards of construction. Starting Salary Range: $123,327.00 - $153,859.00 This is an in-person position located in Fairbanks, Alaska What you will do Provide technical support to all DU site locations and DU project managers. Determine methods and materials necessary to complete projects. Evaluate bids received by Doyon Utilities for completeness and address any issues such as items that may be omitted or incorrectly addressed by bidders. Assist in the compilation of RFP responses. Assist in the planning and submittal of the 5-year capital plan. Provide technical support of capital and in-house utility projects and associated duties and responsibilities related to management of said projects. Conditions of Employment Must pass a pre-employment drug test, random drug test thereafter in accordance with the published policy of Doyon Utilities. Must have a valid driver's license issued by the State of Alaska. Must be eligible to work on a military installation in Alaska. Eligibility to work on a military installation includes compliance with Department of Defense mandates with respect to employee background and health directives. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Required 4 years of relevant electrical engineering experience. Required Experience in the utility industry. Preferred Strong computer skills and proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite and internet applications. Knowledge/experience in electrical distribution and transmission systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent time and project management skills. Excellent conflict resolution and customer service skills. Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Strong problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Professional Engineer (PE) License Ability to obtain professional engineering license.
