Electrical Wiring Designer City Remote Country United States Area of Interest Design and Drafting Type Full Time - Regular Job ID 2024-13704 Business Group Nuclear Power Group Department Electrical and Controls Design Description This position will offer you the opportunity to work in a project team environment in the design, modification, and/or upgrade of new and existing power plant electrical systemsUnder the direction of the Electrical Project Lead, you will work with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams in the development of the following:Single-line diagramsRelay and metering diagramsAC and DC schematic diagramsSynchronizing diagramsPoint to point wiring diagramsCable schedulesYou will check drawings produced by other personnel, as well as review and incorporate vendor drawings into the overall project designIndependently and as a member of a design team, investigate, trouble-shoot, and solve a wide variety of electrical wiring design issuesThere may be the opportunity to accompany and assist in field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilitiesProvide guidance to others in the use of drafting tools, and also as a mentor in the development of less experienced drafters and designers Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:

An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and equivalent technical design experienceFour or more years of detailed wiring design experience in the development of single-line, and relay and metering diagrams, including medium-voltage and 480V systemsFamiliarity with digital control systemsThe ability to perform the following:Produce wiring diagrams and schematics for installers and electriciansAssist engineers with initial design requirementsConceptualize plans and details to accurately convey wiring termination requirementsExtensive AutoCAD and/or Microstation design experience on power plants or large facility projectsA thorough understanding of drafting and design practices and theoriesThe ability to interface and communicate with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the power plant design process

Valued but not required skills and experience:
