Assist in maintaining the electrical infrastructure in a safe, efficient and reliable operating condition with in the confines of the federal, state and local codes. This is accomplished by constant surveillance, testing, repairing, adjusting, adding to and deleting from the electrical system, new and old, equipment respectively. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in accurate competition of documents for preventative maintenance testing for all electrical equipment within the confines of federal, state, local and JAHCO codes. Strive to gain the knowledge and understanding of all of the electrical distribution systems within each building. Assist with the repair of electrical metering systems. Learn to read and understand schematics. Assist with troubleshooting, installing and repairing variable speed drives. Assist and learn how to troubleshoot/replace breakers and fuses. Complete hot work permits. Learn to use proper lock out tag out procedures. Learn to be proficient with multimeters, meggers, power quality and all other test equipment. Learn to analyze data from test equipment. Learn to test and repair all motor control circuits. Learn to read and understand blueprints. Learn to read wiring diagrams and schematics. Install and troubleshoot lighting control devices. Install 600V fuses and breakers. Install receptacles and switches. Install lamps ballasts and sockets. Install branch device circuitry. Learn to plan and install electrical conduit systems. Perform basic mechanical, plumbing and HVAC troubleshooting and repairs as well as any other tasks needed to maintain facility operations. Licenses: City of Lima Electrical License Education and /or Experience Education: Associates Degree Years of Experience: 3-5 years 5 years industrial/commercial electrical experience 600 volt systems. Communication/Interpersonal Skills The work requires incumbents to comfort patients and/or families and/or interpret and explain hospital policy and procedures in somewhat difficult or sensitive situations. Analytical Skills The work requires the ability to analyze and solve problems requiring the use of clinical or technical principles and/or advanced administrative experience-based knowledge. Decision Making Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Other Skills and Abilities Computer Skills: Windows Works within a windows environment and is familiar with the functionality of the windows tools. Internet/Intranet Internet/Intranet: Has the ability to access the organization’s intranet and is familiar with the different content and page layouts. Can access information from the different sites within the web page. Can access the internet and search for relevant material as it relates to the current job.
