Job Description

Industrial Electrician

IKO is a global leader in manufacturing roofing products with production facilities worldwide, we are currently seeking a Process/Plant Electrician to join our team of skilled professionals based at our Kankakee, IL plant. This plant produces premium roofing shingles and composite rolled roofing in a high speed, continuous, asphalt shingle manufacturing process environment. The successful candidate will be fully qualified and able to maximize plant performance and run time through troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment while upholding all safety rules/regulations and adhering to the IKO values.

Key Responsibilities: 

Install, maintain and troubleshoot distribution and control equipment such as switches, relays, circuit breakers and fuse disconnects. Manage assigned work orders. Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment. Work in a team player environment with other maintenance personnel. Communicate effectively up and down the chain of command.Work with computers, line drive, and PLCs, Understand and comply with all safety rulesComprehend and use technical manuals and schematics. Organize work area, tools and parts. Work with minimal supervision; manage time effectively while handling multiple jobs with varying priorities. The position is subject to 24-hour call out; shift and weekend work. Must be able to stand for long periods. Must be able to climb stairs and work on high up areas.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of Safety Systems and their application/useMinimum of five years electrical maintenance experience in a plant setting. Knowledge of Allen Bradley Drives, Relay Logic, PLCs and Programming. Experience with various instrumentation sensors and transmitters. Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting using remote HMIMust be able to work with computer based maintenance software. Possess superior analytical and troubleshooting skills.
