Job Summary:
Responsibilities include, working on assigned projects with limited or no supervision while performing installation, construction, modification, repair and maintenance of electrical apparatuses, equipment and systems ensuring the work is performed in accordance with all relevant codes and safety standards.
Responsibilities & Duties:
• Inspect, isolate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical malfunctions and equipment using various test instruments; maintain and repair electrical systems; test electrical equipment for safety and efficiency; fabricate electrical parts; participates in the maintenance and operation of electrical and mechanical tools and equipment used by the operation.
• Maintenance repairs to machinery and process equipment as needed for non-electrical repair or repairs.
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical systems including electric motors, electric controls, scales, and other electric equipment (plant radios, and electric tools)
• Test & monitor electrical systems, equipment, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
• Ensures the proper function of electrical safety devices
• Installs, troubleshoots and repairs new equipment and systems
• Monitors work done for adherence to the NEC requirements
• Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction
• Maintains appropriate service and repair records, (records necessary for MSHA)
• Analyze and responds safely and appropriately to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service
• Follows blue prints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to conform to the building and safety codes
• Any other duties as assigned by management
Job Qualifications:
• High School Graduate or GED equivalency
• Minimum 4 years on the job electrical maintenance training
• Basic Computer Logic and Programming
• Fluency in spoken and written English
Current PA Electrical License
Knowledge
• Knowledge of electricity and how it works
• Knowledge of safety procedures and precautions to be observed in the maintenance and installation of electrical and mechanical equipment
• The ability to advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
• Knowledge of the mining process and equipment associated with such is a plus (conveyors, crushing and screening equipment, mobile equipment, etc.)
• Knowledge of materials, tools, equipment and systems used in the electrical trade
• Knowledge of State and Federal Codes and regulations pertaining to the electrical trade.
• Knowledge of the methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment
