Ziegler CAT has an opening for an electrician who installs, maintains and repairs electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. The Electrician will also ensure that work is completed in accordance with relevant codes.

Responsibilities:

Experience with voice/data infrastructure installationExperience as field tech a plusWorking knowledge with card access, IP and analog camerasExperience with system cutoversInstalls, repairs, and maintains motors, transformers, generators, lights, appliances, circuits, wiring, and other electrical system equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulationsInstalls new electrical service / Install electrical panels, switchgearDirects and trains workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixturesStudies plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and/or installationsUses a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lampsDiagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problemAssembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power toolsAssists or leads electrical projects of larger scope such as new construction installsPerforms preventive maintenance on transformers and switchgear as well as preventive building maintenance including but not limited to building HVAC systems, plumbing repairs, exterior building repairs and cement replacementsPulls necessary electrical permitsAssists or leads electrical projects of larger scope such as new construction installs

Qualifications:

High school degree required, Associate’s degree preferredElectricians license required3-5 years electrical experience strongly preferredSafety knowledge of electrical jobs requiredKnowledge of a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment; measuring devices; power tools; and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lampsAvailable for on-call emergenciesClean driving record required, Class A or B license a plusHighly motivated and hard workerTeam-player attitude and willing to help on whatever task is neededThis role is deemed safety-sensitive and will be subject to a drug test as a pre-employment requirement

Up to 50% travel

Push/pull up to 25 lbsLift/carry up to 50 lbsLift bulky objectsStanding, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, fingering/grasping – able to use a bolt box.Able to drive long distances (within Ziegler territory primarily)Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be moderate at times.
