Skookum is seeking a responsible and detail-oriented electrician with a positive attitude.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Repair and maintain all voltage electrical wiring, devices, electrical appliances, and equipment from the main City of Oak Ridge electrical meter and back.
Maintain effective Preventive Maintenance and Quality Control programs on electrical/electronic systems, including but not limited to: lighting, HVAC/R and alarm systems.
Ensure adequate lighting is maintained in all facilities.
Restore fixtures to proper operating condition and lighting to current Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES) standards.
Minor electrical repairs including, but not limited to, outlet repairs and/or replacement, circuit breaker(s), various sensors and ground fault interruptions, etc.
Responsible for cleaning lighting fixture, replacing receptacles, various switches and other connections and performing miscellaneous re-lamping repairs.
Performs routine electrical maintenance to ensure building systems operate efficiently in accordance with NEC.
Ability to install and or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components.
Plan and layout repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals and schematic diagrams.
Record maintenance and repair work performed and the completion of the work.
Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.
Qualifications:
Current Tennessee Journeyman Electrician License required.
Must be able to distinguish between different colors of wire.
3 years electrical experience preferred.
Associates Degree preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s insurance.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
A Department of Energy (DOE) pre-employment drug screening is required. Candidates must meet federal guidelines in order to be considered for this position.
