**Electrician - Arlington, Tx**
**Job Description**
This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining electrical systems of industrial establishments by performing the following duties:
**Responsibilities**
+ Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
+ Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
+ Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
+ Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
+ Connect wires to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replace switches and fuses, splice wires, and insulate wires with friction tape.
+ Read and understand blueprints and 1-line drawings.
+ Clean work area, tools, and equipment.
**Essential Skills**
+ **Journeyman's Electrician License** OR equivalent experience (8 years of electrician experience).
+ 4+ years of experience working in a manufacturing setting.
+ 4+ years of experience working on heavy-duty equipment and machinery.
+ Proficiency in installations, troubleshooting, electrical testing, and wiring.
+ Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience editing and troubleshooting PLCs.

**Work Environment**
This position is based onsite at General Motors in Arlington. You will work closely with GM employees in a dynamic and fast-moving production setting. Teamwork and the ability to keep up with the production pace are essential.
