The Role
As an Electrician for our site you will have a dynamic role, in which no two days are the same, where you could be supporting our communication engineers in delivering and installing new equipment, to ensuring system and services continue to operation.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and limited electronic maintenance of Communication Station equipment in accordance with scheduled requirements.
Maintaining technical and administrative records and provide information as required. Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems. Reading technical diagrams and blueprints and performing general electrical maintenance. Inspecting transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components, including troubleshooting electrical issues using appropriate testing devices. Repairing and replacing equipment, electrical wiring, and fixtures, and performing circuit breaker corrective maintenance. Following National Electrical Code state and local building regulations.
This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and is based on site at Forest Moor. The successful candidate will be required to travel to other sites as and when required.
Essential Experience of the Electrician
Installation and maintenance of electrical installations to the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) Wiring regulations and experience in mechanical/electrical fitting or installation work. Knowledge of safe working practices within this discipline. An adequate knowledge of and compliance with the Health and Safety policy and regulations consistent with their responsibilities.
Qualifications for the Electrician
Recognised apprenticeship as an electrician or equivalent qualification. Qualified to City & Guilds 2381 electrical wiring, 2391-01 installation & certification or equivalent. 18th Edition City & Guilds 2382.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role. However, the successful candidate can start on Security Check (SC) and will be allowed to be on site under escort but will need to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV).
