**Job Title: Sign Service Electrician** **Job Overview:** A Sign Service Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical signs. This includes neon signs, LED signs, digital displays, and other types of illuminated and non-illuminated signs. The electrician ensures that all work meets safety codes, is compliant with regulations, and that signs are operational for clients. **Key Responsibilities:** + **Installation of Signs** : Install electrical signs, including LED, neon, and other types of illuminated signage, as well as non-illuminated signs, in both indoor and outdoor environments. + **Electrical Wiring** : Install and connect electrical wiring, circuits, and components to power electrical signage. Ensure proper electrical grounding and adherence to electrical codes. + **Maintenance & Repair** : Perform regular maintenance and repair work on electrical signs, diagnosing and fixing problems such as faulty wiring, burned-out bulbs, and damaged components. + **Troubleshooting** : Identify and troubleshoot electrical issues, including malfunctions in the power supply, circuitry, lighting, or digital control systems. + **Client Interaction** : Communicate with clients to understand their needs, provide estimates for repairs or installations, and ensure satisfaction with the work completed. + **Compliance** : Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety codes. + **Safety Practices** : Follow all safety protocols when working with electricity, using the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools to avoid electrical hazards. + **Upgrades and Retrofits** : Upgrade or retrofit older signage to more energy-efficient solutions (e.g., replacing neon with LED lights). + **Documentation** : Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and inspections. Ensure all necessary permits and paperwork are in order for each job. **Skills and Qualifications:** + **Technical Knowledge** : Proficient in electrical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and sign-specific wiring and lighting. + **Experience** : Previous experience working as an electrician, with a focus on signs and lighting systems, is preferred. + **Licensing** : Valid drivers license + **Physical Ability** : Ability to work on ladders or elevated platforms and lift heavy sign components. + **Problem-Solving Skills** : Strong troubleshooting abilities to diagnose electrical issues quickly and accurately. + **Communication** : Ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members, and suppliers. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $52000.00 standard blue cross blue shield benefits, contractors are given the chance to sign up for medical, dental and vision insurance once they are hired on full time.
