Electrician

Job responsibilities  

Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components. 

Demonstrates a safety and quality conscious approach while performing work duties and able to work in a team environment. 

Tests electrical and electronic equipment for proper function. 

May install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices. 

Work with the Electrical/Engineering team on other electrical projects as required. 

Maintains and improves the plant’s preventive/predictive maintenance system. 

Plans installations from blueprints, sketches and specifications and installs all electrical and electronic devices. 

Measures, cuts, threads, bends, assembles, and installs conduits and other electrical conductor raceways. 

Splices and terminates electrical conductors. 

Possesses good verbal communication skills and can follow verbal instructions and written documentation related to the job. 

 

Work Environment:  

Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds 

Frequent walking, standing, squatting, and reaching required 

Ability to do shift work 
 

Compensation 

Starting base rate:  $39.10 per hour plus premiums 

Increasing to $40.59 per hour plus premiums after one year. 

Paid lunch- Get paid for 13 hours while you work 12 hours when on shift. 

Pension plan with Company matching up to 6%   

Health and Dental benefits paid by Employer   

Yearly fitness allowance   

Gain Share Incentive Program - Up to $4,000  

Training and Development Program   

Tool allowance of $500/year 

Two pairs of safety boots per year 

 

Qualifications & Responsibilities 

MUST BE a licensed electrician (309A or 442A) 

Minimum 3 years of experience working in a production/industrial environment with extensive experience in machine troubleshooting. 

Ability to read, program and troubleshoot industrial PLC ladder logic (Allen-Bradley experience preferred). 

Ability to install, commission and troubleshoot AC and DC motor drive systems (Parker and ABB experience preferred). 

Experience diagnosing faults in electrical/electronic systems and equipment and repairing or replacing electrical and electronic components.
