Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.

The RoleReporting to the Electrical Supervisor, this role is focused on providing safe and efficient electrical services both on the surface and in underground environments. Key responsibilities include the repair, servicing, and maintenance of Newmont Tanami's mobile equipment and fixed plant electrical infrastructure. This infrastructure covers a wide range of assets, such as Sandvik drills, Normet equipment, R2900XE CAT loaders, Paste Plant, drives, transformers, instrumentation, power distribution networks, substations, distribution boards, and associated components.
Skills & Knowledge Essential qualifications include Electrical Trade certification with post-trade experience.Experience in the mining industry, particularly in underground operations, is highly regarded.Profound knowledge of the relevant subject matter is critical.Exceptional communication abilities, encompassing both verbal and written skills.Competence in task analysis and understanding of safety and job specifications is required. Advanced problem-solving capabilities are also necessary. Possession of a valid Australian vehicle license is mandatory.Working ConditionsThis role is FIFO, with an 8:6 work roster. Hiring points are available in Darwin, Alice Springs, Perth, and Brisbane. The successful candidate will receive a competitive remuneration package, including generous leave entitlements and annual incentives.
