Job Description

We are looking for Electricians with 3+ years of experience. The role involves electrical troubleshooting throughout the facility, assisting other Operating Technicians on major projects, and supporting production and maintenance tests to ensure maximum production, quality, and inspection. Daily duties include taking work orders, managing inventory, and responding to emergency calls. You will work with electrical switchgear, high voltage up to 480V+, three-phase power distribution, and be required to troubleshoot starters, AC/DC motors, drives, and DC controls. Reading schematics and basic computer knowledge for reporting are essential.

ResponsibilitiesPerform electrical troubleshooting throughout the facility.Assist other Operating Technicians on major projects.Support production and maintenance tests to ensure maximum production, quality, and inspection.Take work orders and manage inventory.Respond to emergency calls.Work with electrical switchgear, high voltage up to 480V+, and three-phase power distribution.Troubleshoot starters, AC/DC motors, drives, and DC controls.Read schematics and report using basic computer knowledge.Perform some mechanical work on motors, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics as needed.Essential Skills3+ years of experience as an Electrician.Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems including 480V motor circuits.Experience with AC/DC motor control.Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing controls, motors, switches, and starters.Ability to read motor control schematics.Basic computer knowledge.Comfortable with some mechanical work on motors, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics.Additional Skills & QualificationsPLC troubleshooting/maintenance experience.Experience with switchgear manipulation of 440V, 480V, and basic knowledge of high and medium voltage power distribution.Basic understanding of plant power one-line diagrams.Experience with low voltage (20-140V).Mechanical troubleshooting skills.Relevant licenses or certifications (Journeyman or Master Electrician status).High school diploma or GED.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is heavy industrial, requiring fire retardant clothing, steel-toed boots, hard hat, and safety glasses. The facility is inside/outside, with exposure to various weather conditions, including extreme heat in the summer. Uniforms, boots, glasses, ear protection, and tools are supplied. Work alongside skilled tradespeople and a team-oriented crew. Safety is paramount, and the company encourages a close-knit, family-like atmosphere. Shifts include a day shift (7:30am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday, potential weekends) and a 12-hour rotating swing shift with an on-call rotation every other month.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
