Turner Industries Group, LLC has an opening for a Certified Electrician to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. The Electrician position plans layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures and control equipment. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures \/ work is checked frequently.\n

Essential Qualifications:\n\nHigh school or equivalent\nMust have mechanical knowledge\nMechanical experience is a plus\nNFPA 70 E certification required\nOne (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)\nKnowledge of electrician's tools and how to use them\nWorking on or above 600V or 69kV industrial high voltage distribution systems requires qualification\nMost job sites require NCCER certification for A-class Electricians\nWritten pre-employment qualification test\nPost-offer drug\/alcohol screen and physical evaluation\nJob site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)\nSafety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)\nApplicant\/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace\n\n


Functional Requirements:\n

Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, Provides access for future maintenance and avoids unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, Prepares sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring, Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit, Pulls wiring through conduit, Splices wires, Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment, Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels, Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads, Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement, May repair faulty equipment or systems, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.\n
