\nGeneral Job Description:
Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools. Diagnose malfunctioning systems apparatuses and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazard, defects and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. Advise management whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety system. Maintain current electricians license or identification card to meet governmental regulations. Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.\n
\nFunctional Requirements:
Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provides access for future maintenance and avoids unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring consist with specifications and local electrical codes; prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, insuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings and flooring; measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit; pulls wiring through conduit; splices wires; connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment; installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels; connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads; tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components; observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement; may repair faulty equipment or systems.

Qualification Standards:

\n\nFour (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)\nWritten pre-employment qualification test\nPost-offer drug\/alcohol screen and physical evaluation\nHazard Communication orientation\/test\nTurner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination\nOSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87)\nJob site orientation\nJob site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)\nSafety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)\nApplicant\/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place\n\n\n
\nTools\/Equipment:
Employee may be required to provide the following: tool box, slide cutter, channel locks, adjustable wrench, torpedo level, diagonal or stakon pliers, needle nose pliers, allen wrenches, voltage tester, electrician's knife, rule, pencil, tool pouch, fillister screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, crescent wrenches, hacksaw, and rain suit.

Physical Involvement:
Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds structures, etc.; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and\/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching\/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction.

Mental Involvement:
Employee may be required to do the following: following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work and selecting proper tools; comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects; picturing and evaluating solid objects from drawing or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked; following oral and\/or written directions, plans and blueprints; reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards.
