Job Description

An Electrician installs basic electrical equipment and systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

ResponsibilitiesRunning rigid (1.5 inch) pipe down to gear boxWiring 3 way switchesAssembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, conduit, cable, equipment, components and devices associated with electrical equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plansInstalling and mounting electronic controls, devices, panels, sensors, and componentsPerforming interlock wiring as requiredTesting electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devicesInspecting installation sites and studying work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation proceduresDiagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problemDirecting and training workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixturesReading contract drawingsWorking with Electrical Distribution systems and wiring up to 480VInstalling conduit, wireways, pulling wiring/cables, and terminating cablesReading and interpreting electrical blueprints and control wiring diagramsEssential SkillsExperience as a 3rd or 4th year apprentice electrician or in an electrical helper role for the past 3 or 4 yearsJourneyman or Master level with at least 4 years of experienceCommercial backgroundExperience with 480 voltsExperience bending and installing rigid 1.5 inch pipeAbility to perform some modifications as seen fitExperience wiringAdditional Skills & QualificationsElectrical ApprenticeMaster or JourneymanCommercial experienceWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing setting with required PPE: hard hat, steel-toed boots, safety vest, and safety glasses (all PPE provided except for steel-toed boots). The shift is Monday – Thursday from 5:30 am – 4 pm, and Friday from 5:30 am – 1:30 pm, allowing for plenty of overtime opportunities. Enjoy working in a nice manufacturing facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ruther Glen, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
