**DESCRIPTION**
We are looking for a talented **Electrification Diagnostics Subject Matter Expert** to join our team specializing in **Engineering** for our Cummins Inc. facility in **Columbus, IN.**

Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the successful integration and performance of Cummins' electronic and electrical systems.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**To be successful in this role, you will need the following:**
+ **Mechatronics Systems Design** : Expertise in specifying and applying electronic hardware and interconnections to measure and control systems within Cummins' products.
+ **Machine Integration and Optimization** : Ability to combine various parts or sub-systems to achieve optimal performance, reliability, cost, and quality, using proven problem-solving techniques.
+ **Product Function Modeling and Analysis** : Proficiency in using computational tools and methods to predict and impact product design decisions.
+ **Product Problem Solving** : Skill in solving product issues through a systematic process that protects the customer and implements robust, data-based solutions.
+ **Verification and Validation Management** : Capability to develop validation plans, manage product risk, and evaluate test results to verify and validate product requirements.
+ **Systems Thinking** : Competence in defining systems, analyzing interactions, and predicting behavior to devise modifications that produce desired effects.

**Education, Licenses, Certifications:**
College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.
Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
**Experience:**
Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making. Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Additional Information:**
This role is for a Diagnostic Subject Matter Expert (DSME) within the Global Technical Compliance and Certification (TC&C) team in the Product Compliance and Regulatory Affairs (PC&RA) organization. This is a hybrid position based in Columbus, Indiana.
Key responsibilities include:
+ Supporting diagnostic algorithm development reviews and providing design review approval for diagnostic calibration tuning, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements for successful product certification.
+ Gaining expertise in Cummins Diagnostic Development Processes and relevant regulatory requirements.
+ Providing diagnostic functional leadership for assigned diagnostics across multiple products, collaborating with diagnostic tuners and stakeholders to optimize performance within product architecture and diagnostic constraints.
+ Primarily supporting zero-emission products such as Battery Electric Vehicles, Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles, and their components (e.g., Fuel Cell Engines, Battery Packs, eAxles), as well as Hybrid, H2ICE, and conventional ICE programs.
+ Contributing to the continuous improvement of standard processes and supporting upcoming regulatory activities.
+ Providing training and coaching on diagnostic calibration processes, methods, and best practices to diagnostic tuners.
Tools used in this role include Matlab, Simulink, Windchill RV&S, and internal Cummins calibration and service tools.
