POSITION SUMMARY
Apply the technical skills necessary to maintain, repair and/or restore all major components of both automated and non-automated machinery throughout the facility. The position works independently to troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and/or modify the Plant’s Mechanical, Electrical and Computer driven controls systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES (What functions and responsibilities does this position perform to achieve the above summary?)
1. Performs general diagnostics, Repairs and preventative maintenance on automated equipment including robotics, Siemens PLC’s, VFD, HMI, electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, and hydraulics systems.
2. Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and principles, wiring specifications.
3. Modify, maintain, and install PLC programs, troubleshoot and maintain updated documentation and wiring changes.
4. Correctly identify voltage and current nomenclature on equipment. Safely troubleshoot and repair systems using voltages from 12V,24V, 120V, 277V-, and 480V AC/DC circuits.
5. Proficient with reading, interpreting, and executing equipment specifications using Manuals, basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and other instructions to accurately assemble and troubleshoot equipment.
6. Install and maintain wiring, control, and power systems in compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC). Inspect and understand electrical distribution components (switchgear, panelboards, transformers, other electrical components)
7. Support Maintenance team including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
8. Supports equipment installation projects on new and existing production lines.
9. Designs and constructs adaptations of component parts or standard parts, as required.
10. Fabricates parts as required using machine and hand tools common to the trade.
11. Informs supervisor and line mechanics of potentially dangerous electrical equipment observed, or faulty instrumentation and corrective actions taken.
12. Maintains company required performance and maintenance records for instrumentation and electronic equipment using a CMMS system.
13. The incumbent must follow and adhere to proper Arch Flash procedure and Personal Protective Equipment.
14. May sub for shift electricians as directed.
15. Provide coaching and technical direction to maintenance technicians and helpers as required.
16. Comply with ISO Quality Policies as it pertains to the company and job.
17. Maintains company-required performance and maintenance records for electronic and electrical equipment.
18. Responsible for maintaining the workstation, per 5S guidelines, which includes maintaining a clean and organized work area.
19. Place waste in appropriate designated, labeled containers and makes sure lids are properly closed after disposal of waste. Examples of waste are: Contaminated rags, empty aerosol cans, defective lime, etc.
20. Report abnormal conditions, such as overflowing barrels and missing identification labels to supervisor in charge.
21. Perform SMAT audits when required thought out the year.
22. Perform “One Minute to Think” before starting any assigned job task.
23. Able to read PPE assessment forms and comply with PPE requirements.
24. Bring to management’s attention any Environmental, Health and Safety alerts throughout the year by submitting a safety alert form.
