Accurate assembly of sub electro and mechanical components for builds into higher level assemblies; build multi-level assemblies according to written instructions, drawings and visual aids that comply with IPC standards and By Light workmanship requirements. Network, installation and integration of multi-level assemblies through final completion of By Light product offerings.

Responsibilities

Typical Duties include:

Apply mechanical knowledge to perform routine tasks

Proven ability to operate power and hand tools used in an Electro/Mechanical environment

Ability to accurately complete sub and higher-level assembly builds working from moderate to complex drawings and work instruction

Must be capable of effectively completing assembly builds on fundamental to moderate 1st article assemblies building to Raydon’s quality, IPC workmanship standards, and best practices

Ability to complete and pass and retain IPC certifications for the latest revision of 620 & J standards

Ability to solder and perform crimping processes with small gauge wire

Moderate level of computer proficiency

Capable of troubleshooting electro and mechanical failure modes

Ability to use test equipment to validate product quality and reliability

Commitment to continuous improvement culture and Lean metric reporting. Actively participate in continuous improvement events driving improvement opportunities in products and processes

Performing other duties as assigned

Required Experience/Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED), ability to complete on the job training and perform well in a capabilities’ evaluationHas worked as a Mechanical Assembler I or Mechanical Assembler II for a minimum of 3-12 monthsMust have beginning to moderate wire routing experience using IPC 620 standardsMust have successfully built electro/mechanical assemblies using workmanship standardsMust have indepth knowledge of By Light Port Orange’s build processes and standardsWillingness to learn crimping, soldering, electro-mechanical assembly build, and read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.Must be able to pass and retain IPC certifications for the latest revision J standards within the first 6 months of attaining positionMust have passed IPC 620 certification Preferred Experience/Qualifications Previous IPC certifications, wiring experience Physical Demands

 
 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is regularly required to sit and occasionally climb or balance; use hands to touch, use hands and arms to reach forward and overhead. The employee must frequently lift up to 35 pounds unassisted, and occasionally assist moving up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include color, close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. May be required to work with hazardous materials.

 

The work environment is frequently performed in a climate-controlled environment and occasionally in a non-climate-controlled setting. The employee may be exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is considered low to moderate in the manufacturing area.
