You will be the Electro-Mechanical Engineer Sr. Staff for the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Chelmsford team. Our team is responsible for designing and manufacturing RF and microwave components and systems for use in missile applications and other harsh military environments.



What You Will Be Doing
As the Electro-Mechanical Engineer Sr. Staff, you will be responsible for creating innovative electronics packaging designs and performing thermal and structural analysis for microwave electronics components and sub-systems. You will be part of a world-class Integrated Product Development environment, working on the development of sophisticated state-of-the-art avionics products.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing electronics packaging designs, including thermal and structural analysis for microwave electronics components and sub-systems
• Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of electronic assemblies under shock and vibration environments
• Creating designs and performing verification testing using current electronics packaging concepts
• Analyzing specific products and fixtures for structural and thermal capabilities, as well as other inherent features that may impact performance during launch and flight
• Preparing, scheduling, and performing design assurance reviews, mechanical design verification, and qualification testing of systems
• Submitting formal reports and recommendations

This position is located in Westfield, MA.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position requires the ability to obtain an Interim Secret security clearance prior to start.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
• Experience in Mechanical Design with strong understanding of electronics, structures, mechanics and materials.
• Mechanical/electronics packaging, hardware design, manufacture and integration experience.
• Modelling experience with 3D CAD systems and drafting experience.
• US Citizenship is required to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance prior to start.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with microwave electronic systems
• CREO or similar CAD systems using MBD (Model Based Definition)
• Experience with Ansys thermal and mechanical FEA
• Exposure to DFx Principles (Design for Affordability, Design for Manufacturability, etc.).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint)
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
