Electro-Mechanical Technician/Assembler
The Electro-Mechanical Technician/Assembler will provide the skill and professional acumen/experience for machine build, testing and system/sub-assembly performance qualification working in a team-oriented production environment where directly contributing to ensure Gleason Metrology Systems products, system platforms and special machines are constructed to the highest accuracy possible with constant attention to technical detail, quality of workmanship, demonstrated thoroughness in testing and a consistent focused effort for the assurance of meeting/exceeding the final system performance criteria as is applicable with the design and customer order definition/requirements. The Electro-Mechanical Technician/Assembler is held responsible to work efficiently, maintain daily professional communication and hand-off to co-workers, ensure and apply high workmanship standards and sound electro-mechanical practices to all machine build, test and system performance quality assurance requirements while adhering to established GMS best practices, work policies and procedures consistently supporting/maintaining GMS’s Master Production Schedule and the subsequent on-time delivery commitment to GMS customers. + Timely execution of the GMS Master Production Schedule as pertaining to specific area of responsibility – delivering a quality product and solution on-time is the Electro-Mechanical Technician/Assembler’s most important promise and responsibility to the Gleason customer + Ensure that all machine assembly work, debug practices, quality measures and system performance testing is accomplished with a daily focus utilizing the principles of Lean Manufacturing, Standard Work Procedures, Problem Solving and a mindset for Continuous Improvement + Openly contribute and communicate within a team environment toward the continual product improvement of GMS systems – involve the supporting disciplines of Engineering, Software, Applications, Service, Supply Chain and GMS Management as deemed appropriate – frequently suggest and champion new and improved approaches to improving efficiency, reducing waste and actively participating in a Lean Process Manufacturing/Production Culture + Update Issue Tracking Log (ITL) in a timely manner to support GMS product non-conformance Preferred Education/Training/Experience: + High School Diploma with preference of having additional Trade School and/or associate's degree in Technical Discipline + Minimum of 1 years in special machine assembly, troubleshooting (mechanical and electrical) preferably within the machine tool and/or coordinate measuring machine (CMM) industry + 1 years of experience or greater within a Lean Manufacturing environment having demonstrated knowledge and background to include Standard Work Procedures (creation, updating, adherence to), 5S, Work Cells, Waste Reduction/Elimination and Continuous Process Improvement Job Details Job Family GMS Job Function Direct Pay Type Hourly
