Essential Functions:
Enhance troubleshooting skills for electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Learn tier one skills such as de-energizing machines, replacing switches, pumps, and cylinders, and installing equipment.Understand and adhere to electrical codes, safety regulations, and installation standards.Develop troubleshooting proficiency for electronic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.Adhere to safety protocols, program and troubleshoot using controllers, handle equipment, and ensure operational efficiency.Complete lock-out/tag-out training and perform machine maintenance tasks.Master the use of hand tools and shop equipment for efficient operations.Utilize various testing equipment for production machine repairs.Important Details about the Role:
Report to the Maintenance Supervisor for guidance and direction.Develop plant equipment knowledge to provide effective maintenance support.Learn basic blueprint reading to understand equipment layouts and specifications.Acquire testing and troubleshooting skills to address equipment issues promptly.Identify and promptly report equipment abnormalities and safety hazards.Maintain accurate record logs on computer systems.Proficiently utilize small hand tools for various tasks.Assist in plant cleanup and housekeeping to maintain a tidy work environment.Participate in safety and LEAN initiatives to drive continuous improvement.Effectively communicate with departmental supervision and colleagues.Learn and responsibly use hand tools, electrical tools, and testing equipment.Exercise care to prevent damage to equipment during operations.Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and adhere to protocols.Complete pre-use checklists for material handling equipment.Operate as a valued team member, fostering collaboration.Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
High school seniors or adult learners with a high school diploma/GED or equivalent, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.Acceptance into an associate degree program in Electromechanical Technology at Metropolitan Community College.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Maintenance of a minimum 2.5 GPA in the program to remain in the apprenticeship.Benefits of the Program:
