Description of Duties:
The Electronic and Information Technology Officer (EIT) will promote a more inclusive and welcoming digital environment, particularly for individuals with disabilities through issuing, updating, and enforcing accessibility requirements, standards, and guidelines outlined by SUNY System. To do this, the Officer will oversee the collaborative development of an accessibility plan; coordinate training programs for personnel who create, purchase, and maintain EIT; formalize a process to remediate EIT accessibility barriers; ensure all web pages and digital content are in compliance with WCAG, Section 508, and other technical standards; and establish an exceptions procedure to provide Equally Effective Alternate Access to non-conforming electronic and information technologies
+ Provide leadership, oversight and direction with regard to accessibility standards
+ Ensure webpages and digital content is aligned with best practices and compliant with WCAG, 508, and other technical standards
+ Issue, update, and enforce standards
+ Maintains and modifies accessibility plan in accordance with SUNY standards
+ Coordinate and devise training programs
+ Formalize process and plan for remediation
+ Establish voluntary product accessibility template (VPAT) exceptions guidelines and procedures, maintain a repository of exceptions
+ Reviews VPATs, maintains approved documents
+ Collaboration with Distance learning
+ Serve as EIT committee chair; recruit and maintain EIT committee
+ Collaborate with responsible personnel who create, purchase, and maintain EIT including distance learning, web development, faculty, procurement, instructional resources, and libraries
+ Act as campus representative for SUNY level EIT related committees
+ Create and modify documents and LMS content to meet ADA standards
Salary: $55,000 - $60,000

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Master's degree in Computer Science, higher education, or related field from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
+ Experience working in a learning management system at the higher education level; knowledge of web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG) , section 508, and other technical standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Working knowledge of SUNY EIT initiatives, assistive technology, experience developing and providing trainings, Brightspace Ally, Deque University and other training programs.
+ Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Experience in document modification to meet ADA requirements.
