Role Summary The Electrical Design Engineer II will be responsible for testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Zonal electronics. The role encompasses hands-on testing of boards during various development phases, as well as conducting and presenting root cause analysis, containment, and solutions (8D process) for problems at hand.In addition, the Engineer will support Zonal Engineering leads in the execution of engineering documentation, Bill of Materials (BOM), and Engineering Change Orders (ECO) related to ongoing changes. Responsibilities Manage a high performing team of Engineering Lab Technicians Ensure proper level of staffing, training, and resource planning and coordination to support the electronics lab and key deliverables Provide training on lab safety, regulatory requirements, cleanliness, security, etc. to lab personnel Ensure compliance with Corporate Policies and Regulatory Safety Requirements Establishing and Maintaining a comprehensive Engineering Lab Stock i.e, equipment, supplies, consumable engineering parts Coordinate and facilitate Lab set up and Lab moves, to include coordination with equipment vendors and facilities personnel to set up and install and maintain lab equipment Support engineering development activities including board builds, assembling, testing, verifying, rework, troubleshooting failures to root cause, and harness builds. Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs. and some heavy material lifting may be required Providing excellent support for our team of engineers and our internal customers Support quality control measures and Verify optimum quality is achieved in all deliverables Develop and maintain an effective ESD program Drive operational efficiency improvements in support of company goals Qualifications Must have, at minimum, AA or AS (B.S.E.E preferred) plus 8+ years of experience managing engineering lab with electronic assemblies in a R&D Environment Must be able to work independently with limited supervision and have excellent communication skills both written and spoken Must be highly organized, flexible and has a Can-Do! attitude Demonstrated experience and effectiveness in both Project management and People Management Most recent 3-year experience on lab design, and power planning Most recent 3-year experience on Lab equipment calibration including maintenance, budget, and PO Most recent 3-year experience in asset tracking, budget planning, lab processes and policies Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel, balancing workload and priorities, while insuring timely completion of projects and on schedule Demonstrated ability to work well with multiple cross functional groups Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required Gamiliarity with Jira or other task tracking systems, as well as inventory control management systems Ability to analyze data in excel or similar tool and present it in a clear manner Motivate team for success and provide a leadership style that encourages professionalism, development and fosters team spirit within the department Strong ability to read complex schematics, wiring diagrams and mechanical prints and ability to follow engineering directions or procedures required Experience with the use of multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies and other typical electronics/electrical lab equipment Pay Disclosure Salary Range for California Based Candidates: $107,800.00 - $134,800.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
