Electronic Engineer I
Our Client, an Automotive company, is looking for an Electronic Engineer I for their Portland, OR location. Responsibilities: + Documentation support of Power Distribution Module Global Consumer List + Advancing Excel-based Global Consumer List into ELM Suite or similar version-controlled application + Daily collaboration with component owners to assess circuit protection needs and requirements + Daily collaboration with wiring design colleagues to match circuit protection strategy with wiring harness strategy + Creation and maintenance of circuit pinout documentation for power distribution modules Typical Day in the Role: + Low Voltage Architecture (batteries, power distribution modules, alternators, starters, DC/DC converters, interfacing with wiring teams) + This position will have an opportunity for a lot of networking and will be perfect for someone just starting out their career and + Dealing with technical people + 10-25% in meeting + 25-50% collaborative + 25-50%- on their own- this person needs to be able to determine next steps on their own/ take initiative/ problem solving Some selling points: + Exposure to global teams across USA, Germany, Japan, Brazil, Turkiye and others on critical topics to power and sustain the low voltage systems within our vehicles. + Our team works with every system on the truck that requires power. + This role will interface directly with these teams to gather information and refine that information into requirements for our power distribution modules (fuse boxes). Requirements: + Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, or closely related field, from ABET accredited university OR 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree + Strong knowledge of electrical principles and circuit design + Strong conceptual knowledge of fuses, relays, circuit breakers + Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills + Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously + Strong knowledge of Microsoft suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) + Experience in power distribution systems for low voltage systems + Experience interpreting industry standards into component and/or system-level requirements (i.e. ISO, SAE, VDA, IEEE) + Self-starter personality, able to work with minimal supervision required + Motivation and curiosity regarding position topics and challenges + Direct commercial vehicle experience in any capacity + Experience in technical documentation and specification analysis + Experience with Client processes and release management + Experience with ELM suite (i.e. DOORS, DOORS Next, Rhapsody) + Ability to make decision + Ability to communicate effectively + Willingness to learn and develop within the role Top 3 must-have hard skills: + Fundamental circuit principles/ elements + Very proficient in Microsoft tools (very strong communication skills/ written skills due to the people this contractor will speaking with and work with) + Be able to have the confidence to learn and develop within this role Why Should You Apply? + Health Benefits + Referral Program + Excellent growth and advancement opportunities As an equal opportunity employer, ICONMA provides an employment environment that supports and encourages the abilities of all persons without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or express, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability status, political affiliation, genetics, marital status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
