Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit UNC Greensboro University Libraries invites applications for the position of Electronic Resources Librarian. This person coordinates acquisition of e-resources and supports access to the libraries’ owned, licensed, and subscribed online collections to meet the educational and research needs of UNCG (University of North Carolina at Greensboro) students, faculty, and staff.

Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, this EHRA non-faculty position will work as part of a department of four librarians and ten staff members in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. In this role, the incumbent will also collaborate with colleagues in departments across the University Libraries, including Research, Outreach and Instruction (ROI) and the libraries’ technology unit (ERIT). Position Summary Responsibilities: Coordinate acquisition and management of electronic resources, including e-journals, databases, online primary source collections, and streaming media content Participate as part of a team that continuously analyzes and optimizes e-resource discovery and access mechanisms Gather COUNTER statistics and develop reports to determine usage of resources and support collections decision-making Establish and cultivate positive publisher and vendor relationships Negotiate and manage license agreements with content providers and publishers for collection resources Provide troubleshooting with a team to ensure seamless access to the library’s collections of owned, subscribed, on-demand, consortia, and open access resources Participate in maintaining collections in the WorldCat knowledge base Organize and launch online resource trials Promote e-resources by creating and maintaining research guides, providing training, and arranging for vendor/publisher presentations for library liaison Serve on library and campus committees as appropriate for the position Participate in professional development activities as appropriate for the position Minimum Qualifications ALA-Accredited Master of Library Science degree Experience with contributing to the maintenance of a discovery service and knowledge base Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to work creatively and effectively independently and as a team member Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning and working environment Strong organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates Preferred Qualifications Experience negotiating licenses with publishers and vendors Knowledge and ability to solve patron access problems Experience with compiling and reporting use statistics Willingness to learn new tools that support e-resource management Experience with OCLC WorldShare Management Services, including License Manager Special Instructions to Applicants Recruitment Range $60,000 - $62,000 Org #-Department University Libraries - 11601 Job Open Date 12/16/2024 For Best Consideration Date Job Close Date 01/24/2025 Open Until Filled No FTE 1.000 Type of Appointment Permanent If time-limited, please specify end date for appointment.
