Job Overview:
The High Purity Systems Support Engineer will be responsible for assisting Operations personnel in troubleshooting and repairing key analytical systems and gas purification systems at Linde Gases US electronics facilities. An analytic chemist would also be considered for the role.
Primary Responsibilities:
Understand and adhere to company safety work policies and operating practices. Report safety incidents and near misses.Assist in commissioning and starting up offacility analyzers and analytical system components, including associated cylinders, tubing, purifiers, sample pumps, controls, dilution systems, and analyzer suites.Troubleshoot problems and assist in performing corrective maintenance on analyzers and analytical system components.Identify and assist in managing spare and replacement system components.Assist in commissioning and startup of facility bulk gas purification systems including gas purifiers and filtration systems.Assist in managing contracts for outside analytical services Troubleshoot problems and assist facilities in performing corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance on purification system components at ultra-high purity installations.Work with reliability team to establish and maintain operating and maintenance procedures and preventative maintenance schedules for electronics specific analytical and purification systems.Read, interpret, and maintain (as needed) PIDs and schematic wiring diagrams in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, QA, and MOC policies.This position requires a combination of office work and field work. Some afterhours work will be required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed to develop working relationships with plants’ maintenance team. Both ad hoc and preplanned travel to plants will be required for this role.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline (Chemistry or Engineering preferred), or equivalent experienceExcellent organizational skills are requiredAbility to write and interpret technical procedures and instructionsAbility to work on multiple projects during a given time frameIndustrial Gas experience is preferredExperience in mass spectrometry, gas chromatography, FTIR, and process analyzers is preferredExperience ultra-high purity gas purification systems is preferredBasic electrical and instrumental aptitude is desiredAbility to travel up to 25% within the U.S. and provide after business hours support as neededAdditional Skill Requirements:
Candidate must be a highly organized self-starter capable or working independently. Must have excellent communication skills (both orally and written), with an ability to deal with multiple levels of the internal organization, suppliers, and customers. This is a central support role for the candidate must be able to work across organizational lines to accomplish their goalsTravel up to 25% normally, although could be higher during project execution of production issues. Carrying a cell phone and availability to plant personnel for off hours assistance is required.
