We have over 100 years’ experience in design and manufacture of state-of-the-art Periscopes and Optronics and have led Optronics innovation on a global scale, by combining world-leading expertise from across the Thales group.
Overview
This role covers all aspects of the product lifecycle, from requirements through specification, concept studies, design and development, integration, validation and qualification. This is a great opportunity for an experienced electronics engineer to build technical skills, widen their systems understanding and develop their career.
Key responsibilities of the role
Undertake design of complex electronic circuit assemblies or architectures, from concept through to system integration & qualificationsupport discussions with a multi-disciplinary team (systems, mechanical, software, safety, etc) to develop an optimum solutionWork collaboratively with the project team to ensure products meet all their requirements and comply with regulatory safety and environmental standardsContribute to the development of the wider electronics team, including mentoring junior members of staff, overseeing the implementation of improvements and reviewing the work of peersGenerate electronics specifications, architectures, and development or verification planSupport the bid process through generation of estimates and consultancy on electronic solutionPresent robust engineering solutions at design reviewsMonitor progress of work against cost, schedule and performanceExperience and skill required
We are looking for a forward thinking individual with the following skills and experience:
Experience of electronic design throughout the design lifecyclePrevious use of schematic capture packages (Cadence, Mentor Graphics or similar)Development of electronic products in a formal environmentExperience testing at circuit board and system level (eg. board bring-up and debug, EMC testing)Preparation of sub-system requirements/procurement specsGeneral understanding of engineering process and design lifecyclesWhat we can offer
