GovCIO is currently hiring for an Engineer/Scientist 1 to provide technical support to the Navy’s Fleet Submarine Very Low and Low-Frequency Broadcast Engineering Support team. This position will be located in Charleston, SC and will be an onsite position.
ResponsibilitiesResearches, designs, develops, and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment. Designs, develops, and tests electronic systems, components, or circuits for use within equipment or machinery. May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments.
Works from broadly defined product and systems specifications to determine appropriate top-down controls architecture. Analyzes and communicates customer needs.Contributes to the analysis and characterization of the systems including system error analysis, failure mode analysis, and cost analysis.Ensures requirements are well developed, reviewed, documented to achieve compatibility and proper integration in finished products.Contributes to the test and troubleshooting of systems as part of the design team.Interfaces with technical personnel in the diagnosis and resolution of problems encountered. QualificationsBachelor's with 0 - 2 years (or commensurate experience)

Preferred Skills and Experience
Installs, configures, terminates, and tests all telecommunications equipment, cables, connectors, and interfaces.
Resolve system operational problems by troubleshooting and performing fault isolation.
Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform maintenance and repairs based upon manufacturer specifications and recommendations.
Performs tasks relating to telecommunication network operations, installation, and/or maintenance for local, off-site, and/or remote locations.
Test, troubleshoot and repair circuit boards/cards if required.
Proficiently handle wiring and cabling installation and termination tasks.
