About the Job:
We are in search of a Senior Hardware Engineer to bolster our innovative efforts in developing the next generation of Fire Safety Systems. This role is based in Parsippany, NJ, and is a cornerstone in our mission to protect lives through technology.
Position Overview:
As a Senior Hardware Engineer with Siemens Fire Safety R&D, you will be at the heart of creating life-saving technology. Your expertise will be vital in designing and implementing cutting-edge digital communication systems for our fire alarm products. You will work independently, as well as part of a dynamic team, influencing both existing products and new innovations in the fire safety industry.
You Will Make an Impact By:
Designing, implementing, testing, integrating, and delivering advanced digital communication systems for fire safety products. Creating hardware designs for embedded systems while collaborating closely with key experts. Developing comprehensive design documents that adhere to Siemens' high standards. Crafting test harnesses and devising innovative testing methodologies to ensure product integrity. Integrating firmware seamlessly with system components, ensuring cohesive product functionality. Managing projects of medium complexity with autonomy, from conception to execution, and playing a crucial role in large-scale projects. Troubleshooting and identification of robust failsafe solutions using rigorous root cause analysis tools and methods. Recommending enhancements in design processes and equipment. Occasionally traveling (5%) to troubleshoot and solve product issues firsthand.You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in product firmware and hardware development. Proficiency in real-time embedded systems design, in-circuit emulation, and debugging. Proficiency in using PCs for reporting, data analysis, and project management. Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States. Strong ability to work alongside HW, SW, and Industrialization engineers on development of next generation products as well supporting the production and fielding of existing ones. An ability to drive electrical design of large-scale networked systems considering power and signal integrity over diverse communication media (RS485, Ethernet, fiber optics). Familiarity with designing and testing to UL standards Use of Mentor Graphics ECAD. Effective communication skills. Ability to present clear and concise information and to tailor information to the needs of the audience. Strong initiative and ability to thrive in a self-directed, fast-paced, and changing environment. Work well in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment. Excellent time management skills and dedication to meet deadlines. Collaborative team spirit and readiness to partake in our global vision.Why Siemens?
