Summary You will serve as a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC in the Fuels Department, Operations Division of NAVSUP FLC PEARL HARBOR. Responsibilities You will inspect entire fuel distribution electrical and electronic system and components to detect possible explosive and toxic hazards and system deficiencies. You will performing modification of systems in accordance with applicable manuals, technical publications, and manufacturer's specifications. You will make repairs to electric welding machines, battery chargers and electrical systems of machine tools. You will diagnose, repair, and adjust electrical components such as electrical controls, motors, and other devices using electrical measuring equipment (e.g., voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters). You will perform inspection, maintenance, and repairs on all controls, switches, and connecting and ground cables. The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks including repairing and replacing thermocouples, resistors, tubes, transistors, integrated circuits, capacitors, power transformers, batteries, rectifiers, diodes, and various indication instruments and meters; Inspecting and testing electrical and electronic components for proper operation and calibration; Performing all phases of electrical and electronic component maintenance associated with complex liquid fuel distribution systems and facilities including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modification; Utilizing safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment; Making and repairing grounding cables and insulating flanges at tank truck loading racks, fuel storage tanks, fuel pipelines at pier heads and at pumphouse motors. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
