Electronics Technician
Job Title: Electronics Technician Job Description The Electronic Antenna Technician will provide technical support for AN/SPS-73 Radar Systems. Responsibilities will include radar system maintenance, repair, overhauls, part inventory management, and complete system testing. This could include transmitter repair, high voltage power supply repair, signal processing, fault isolation, obsolescence research, component/system testing, and process/procedure enhancements. Candidates must also work effectively in a team setting with other technicians. Additionally, you will be expected to communicate effectively with Task Leads, Government Branch Manager, and US Navy fleet. Responsibilities + Perform maintenance, repair, and overhauls on radar systems. + Manage part inventory and conduct complete system testing. + Repair transmitters and high voltage power supplies. + Process signal processing and fault isolation. + Conduct obsolescence research and component/system testing. + Enhance processes and procedures. + Collaborate effectively with other technicians. + Communicate efficiently with Task Leads, Government Branch Manager, and the US Navy fleet. Essential Skills + 3+ years of Electronic Technician experience. + Experience with reading and understanding product drawings and procedures. + Experience with transmitter repair, high voltage power supply repair, signal processing, and component/system testing. + Proficiency with electronic test tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, digital analyzers, and signal generators. + Ability to obtain Secret Clearance. + Troubleshooting skills. + Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics. + Soldering and PCB experience. + Experience with RF and SPS-49. Additional Skills & Qualifications + SPS-73 radar experience. + HVPS experience. + J-STD 001 solder certification. + IPC 7711 and IPC 7721 solder certifications. Work Environment The work will be conducted on base at CRANE or in an electronic test lab, 5 days per week. Possible travel to Navy shipyard 1-2 times per year.
