Electronics Technician
Amentum is now hiring for several Electronics Technician (All Levels) positions in support of the Field, Lab and Air Integration / Experimentation / Modeling and Risk Reduction office (FLAIR) at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD and other locations. This project will provide the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Research (C5ISR) Center services to include programmatic/business management services, engineering support services, field engineering, laboratory, logistics, and acquisition / administrative support services to augment FLAIR core Government personnel and turn-key solutions to support the missions of FLAIR and its associated Managers and customers. This support will be conducted in close coordination with Government project leads within FLAIR. **_*** This position is contingent upon award ***_** **The candidate will perform the following duties:** + Fixes technical problems by applying principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, engineering mathematics, electronic and electrical testing, and physics. + Lays out, builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and modifies developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, systems, and related products and services. + Work is more limited in scope and more practically oriented than that of scientists and engineers. + Discusses layout and assembly procedures and problems with engineering personnel and draws sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units. + Develops wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansion. + Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance. Plans, directs, and records periodic testing. + Sets up standard test apparatus or devises test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability. + Analyzes and interprets test data. + Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance. + Writes technical reports and develops charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations for consideration by engineers in broader determinations affecting systems design and laboratory procedures. + Diagnoses cause of electronic or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance. + May assemble experimental circuitry or complete prototype model according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronic systems and components. + May operate bench lathes, drills, or other machine tools to fabricate parts, such as coils, terminal boards, and chassis. + Must have extensive training in maintenance testing and diagnostic routine designed for radio frequency and/or millimeter wave equipment. + Must be able to perform tests and measurements of an electronic/electro- mechanical/computer nature, in accordance with military and commercial standards. Must be able to troubleshoot related product malfunctions, modify, wire and fabricate devices related to work, as required. + Other duties as assigned. **Required Qualifications:** + AA or 2-year technical school in Computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline is required. + 1-10+ years of experience. + 4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education. + Must have an Active TOP SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a TOP SECRET Clearance. **Compensation:** HIRING SALARY RANGE: $55,000 - $175,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.).
