Job Description
We are seeking an experienced electrical/electronic technician to join our Engineering Lab. This position will support the design, development, fabrication, assembly, testing, inspection, troubleshooting, rework, and repair of complex products and support equipment.
ResponsibilitiesSupport complex product and equipment design, development, fabrication, assembly, testing, inspection, troubleshooting, rework, and repair.Proficiently use electronic test equipment, machine tools, and hand tools.Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and sketches.Fabricate, assemble, test, and inspect per engineering drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.Conduct testing and generate report data.Perform calibration and alignment checks.Make equipment adjustments, modifications, reworks, and repairs.Work effectively as part of a group or team.Assemble electronic and mechanical equipment and components.Assemble, rework, and repair circuit boards containing surface mount and through-hole components.Fabricate mechanical and electrical parts from sketches/drawings and prepare samples for testing.Operate equipment necessary to fulfill these duties.Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety objectives and policies.Essential SkillsProficient use of electronic test equipment, machine tools, and hand tools.Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and sketches.Experience with fabrication, assembly, testing, and inspection per engineering drawings.Ability to conduct testing and generate report data.Experience with calibration and alignment checks.Ability to make equipment adjustments, modifications, reworks, and repairs.Experience working as part of a group or team.Experience assembling electronic and mechanical equipment and components.Experience assembling, reworking, and repairing circuit boards with surface mount and through-hole components.Ability to fabricate mechanical and electrical parts from sketches/drawings and prepare samples for testing.Minimum of 2+ years experience in prototype builds.Minimum of 2+ years experience in small electronic assemblies that go into larger subassemblies.Minimum of 2+ years experience soldering/building cables.Minimum of 2+ years experience in an engineering product development, test, or production environment.Proficient in manufacturing & quality requirements of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC-610 or knowledgeable of these requirements.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficient use of complex fabrication equipment.Ability to fabricate and assemble to precise tolerances and standards.Ability to understand complex engineering drawings and information.Ability to assist engineers in the design and development of new systems and equipment.Ability to develop and prepare schematics, design specifications, and parts lists, or make recommendations regarding these items.Ability to review designs and specifications of test equipment or tools for adequacy.Ability to conduct tests or experiments requiring selection, set-up, operation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of equipment.Troubleshooting of electronic, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.Ability to determine engineering/test data to be collected, extract information, and perform calculations to analyze test data.Ability to create test procedures, conduct tests, record data, analyze data, and write reports.About Actalent
