This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DIB-MRTFB to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is within the Production Equipment Branch at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Responsibilities Develop test program sets for electronic equipment maintenance, utilizing programming languages such as LabVIEW, LabWindows, assembly and machine language. Troubleshoot automated test equipment hardware systems including digital computers, programmable stimulus and measurement subsystems, and memory storage devices. Interpret technical documentation and specifications to ensure compliance with requirements and standards. Manage automated test equipment parts and materials inventories within budget constraints, utilizing appropriate procurement methods. Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to resolve technical issues in support of project objectives. Calibrate automated test equipment systems and instruments according to established procedures and schedules. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service that demonstrates the following: Assisting in the development of test program sets utilizing programming languages such as LabVIEW, LabWindows, assembly, and machine language; Assisting in troubleshooting automated test equipment hardware systems including digital computers and programmable stimulus and measurement systems; Interpreting technical specifications to verify compliance with basic requirements; managing inventories within budget constraints; Collaborating with others to resolve technical issues; and Calibrating electronic test equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One-year probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
