Electrophysiology Technician (EP Tech)

The ElectrophysiologyTechnician (EP Tech) performs diagnostic electrophysiology procedures andinterventions per physician orders. The Electrophysiology (EP) Tech isresponsible for supporting the cardiologist during cardiac procedures,preparing the patient for procedures and ensuring all equipment andinstrumentation is in working order. The Electrophysiology (EP) Tech will placecardiac electrophysiology catheters, interpret data and readelectrocardiograms. The Electrophysiology Technician will provide specializedtechnical support and assist the physician.
Essential Duties andResponsibilities:
+ Maintains inventory of medicalequipment and supplies
+ Prepares equipment for surgeryand alternate procedures to ensure sterility, assembling devicesand preparingsolutions
+ Records patients past medicalhistory, current vitals, height and weight
+ Prepares patients forelectrocardiogram testing
+ Monitors patients EKG andreports rhythm disturbances to physician
+ Placement of EP catheter,reading electrocardiograms, interpretation of recordings
+ Cleans equipment and mayperform preventative maintenance after each use; reports anymalfunctionsimmediately
+ Adheres to all Amergis andworksite rules, policies and procedures
+ Performs other duties asassigned
Minimum Requirements:
+ Associate or Bachelor’s degreepreferred
+ Two (2) years of experience in(EP/Cath Lab preferred)
+ Electrophysiology Techniciancertification or applicable certification required by state, contractor clientrequirements
+ Current physical exam ifrequired by state regulations or contract specifications
+ Current TB test or chest x-ray
+ Current BLS card per staterequirement or contract requirement
+ Attention to detail
+ Strong verbal communication
