Performs electrolytic plating of metallic parts to close tolerances. Plans process and sequence of operations; works from blueprints, sketches of manufacturing specifications; ascertains voltage and amperage required; selects electrodes, masking material, plating material, racks, and hangers; and performs electrolytic operations ensuring complete and uniform plating deposit on all surface areas. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Follow company policies and procedures.
· Follow directions and / or instructions, as directed.
· Familiar with Internal Customer Interfaces, as defined by the process assigned.
· Process forms and document work by utilizing their endorsement, in accordance with the Quality Management System.
· Notify immediate supervisor of any suspected un-airworthy condition noted while performing their duties.
· Acquire and maintain hand tools, if necessary, to complete work assigned.
· Sand, strip, clean, mask, touch up, buff and prepare components for sealants, sanding surfaces, primers and topcoats and other special coatings with normal supervision.
· Apply different type’s conversion coatings and sealants using different types of tools and methods with normal supervision.
· Work in conjunction with higher grade electroplaters to further their job knowledge base through OJT with normal supervision.
· Cleans work area, spray booths, racks, drying ovens, and changes filters in booths when required with minimal supervision. Clean and Prepare components for topcoat application and other special coatings with minimal supervision.
· Have a good understanding of blueprints, technical manuals and paint drawings or schemes and planning documents with minimal supervision.
· Other various duties as necessary or assigned.
