This position is represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the AMEA. DEPARTMENT: Public Transportation HOURS: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; O ccasional evenings and weekends. LOCATION: 3625 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue Bldg. A Remote work schedule opportunities (telecommuting) may be considered after successful completion of probation, at the discretion of management and with the approval of the department head. Example of Duties Under general supervision: Lead the administration and management of the AnchorRIDES eligibility program. Conducts in-person cognitive and functional assessments, makes eligibility determinations in compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act and Federal Transit Administration regulations. Enforces the no-show and suspension rider policy and coordinates the appeal process, including recruitment and education of the Appeals Board members. Identifies opportunities for outreach initiatives. Represents the department and engages in public speaking on all public transportation services. Manages client information and record-keeping. Prepares and coordinates contract documents and performance data. Leads, supports, and trains office associates, in assessing and determining the mode of transportation best suited for the need of the individual. Maintain, support and coordination of IT activities for Trapeze Certification, Reports, and Suspension modules. Ensures data accuracy and work with contractor(s) to identify and create reports. Leads, coordinates, and plans software updates, upgrades, or new software replacement, through the identification, acquisition, and procurement process, to include funding and grant writing applications, implementation, and training to the work unit. Leads the complaint and comment process by receiving, reviewing, documenting, assigning, and routing to the contract administrator and contractor for resolution. Keeps the status of the resolutions and prepares a final monthly complaint/ comment summary report and status update. This position is expected to work independently with only general guidance. Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline and experience in the field related to the position. OR Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline and two (2) years of experience in the field related to the position. OR High school diploma, GED or equivalent and four (4) years of experience in the field related to the position. All candidates must possess: + Comprehensive understanding of all PTD transportation service, including regularly riding the fixed route and paratransit services, and regular time and attendance standards. + Valid State of Alaska's Driver's License at time of hire. Preferences: + Ability to lead the administration and management of the AnchorRIDES paratransit eligibility program to include suspensions, complaints, appeals, and eligibility determinations based on the Federal Transit Administration Guidelines and Regulations to accomplish department and division's goals. + Comprehensive understanding of paratransit planning and scheduling software, updates, and procurement. + Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. + Certified Disability Management Specialist. + Certified Case Manager. + Certified Public Transportation Professional.
